The APPG welcomes the FCDO’s announcement of a major multi‑year funding package for UNFPA’s Supplies Partnership through its CHOICES programme.
The £254 million commitment—including £204 million for UNFPA Supplies between 2025 and 2028—represents a significant investment in global sexual and reproductive health and rights.
According to UNFPA, this funding will help enable voluntary family planning for more than 15 million women each year, potentially preventing 14 million unintended pregnancies and over 35,000 maternal deaths by 2028.
The announcement was made alongside UNFPA’s UNGA side event on securing sustainable financing for reproductive health commodities, where UK Development Minister Kirsty McNeill joined other international partners in pledging long‑term support.
At a time of rising humanitarian need and pressure on SRHR services worldwide, this multi‑year commitment provides vital stability for reproductive health supply chains and signals continued UK leadership in advancing women’s health and rights.
